Up the Gatineau! Current Volume

2025 Update from the editor of Up the Gatineau!

I am pleased to announce that Volume 51 of Up the Gatineau! was published in June 2025 and is available at many local retailers in the Valley or by contacting the Society directly at publications@gvhs.ca.

This year’s volume showcases first-time and returning contributors in 13 articles and 2 photo essays, writings of four first-time and six returning contributors. This year two articles from Volume 51 are available online, in both English and French. The first is “Settlement of the Township of Low: The 1850s” (La colonisation du canton de Low : les années 1850 en français) by Martin Lamontagne (who provided both versions), and the second is “Le Projet Neufbourg: They Shared a Dream… and Cantley Was Their Legacy” (Le Projet Neufbourg: ils partagèrent un rêve, et firent de Cantley leur héritage en français) (Le Projet Neufbourg: ils partagèrent un rêve, et firent de Cantley leur héritage) by Michael Rosen.

I would also like to announce that Susan Derby is this year’s winner of the Arthur Davison Prize or her outstanding article in 2024’s Volume 50. Congratulations!
