Description
Pot au Feu, Riverside Drive, Wakefield. On May 15, 2010, the GVHS Archive volunteers made a trip on the Gatineau River from 60 Old Sawmill Road south to the yacht club and then north to Wakefield and back to 60 Old Sawmill Road. The reason for the trip was to document historical sites for the purpose of creating a guide with maps and photographs for use by boaters. Two hundred and thirty-seven photographs were made of the sites and of many of the houses along the way. These photographs are all contained in this Image Bank as numbers 02576.001 - 02576.237. The guide was finalized by Louise Schwartz in June 2010 for a Heritage Paddle organized by Friends of the Gatineau River (FOG) and GVHS. It is available on the GVHS and FOG web sites. You can view the GVHS site here: http://www.gvhs.ca/digital/gatineau-river/guide/index.html R.J. Hughes and David and Janet Bradley's pontoon boats were used. The photographs include pictures of the volunteers. Property address and names are indicated where they are known. Otherwise, the photographs are in the order they were taken during the trip.
