Église de Sainte-Cécile, Masham, La Pêche

Église de Sainte-Cécile

Just north of the river, close to the present junction of route 366 and the road into Lac Philippe, the first chapel was built in 1845, and at its rear, a cemetery was established from 1840. The earliest structure was replaced in 1853, by a building on the site of the present church, more in the centre of the community of Masham.

The present church in Ste. Cecile de Masham was built in 1911 after fire had destroyed the one which had been built in 1868 to replace the original one built in 1853. The present one can seat 900 persons.
