A historic walk along the old Low-Maniwaki trail
A history walk, initiated by Michel Alexandre, took place last Fall, following the old Low-Maniwaki trail, with visits to many French and English speaking residents whose recollections were recorded on tape by the young historians who went on the walk.
Claude Nault, well-known photographer of the Maniwaki area, joined Michel Alexandre in this venture and took some 90 photographs of this history walk. These photographs which have been exhibited in Maniwaki are now on exhibit in Peronne, France and will be shown, also in Brussels, Belgium “so that others will get to know this marvellous region of the Upper Gatineau".
An outgrowth of this enterprise may be the creation of an Historical Society of the Upper Gatineau.
