GVHS speaker J. William (Bill) Galbraith, author of "John Buchan, Model Govenor General" ‘re-introduced’ John Buchan, former Governor General of Canada (1935-1940), prolific author and esteemed statesman to a captivated audience at the Chelsea Library. Known as Lord Tweedsmuir while Governor General, Buchan travelled throughout Canada including the Arctic Circle and enjoyed spending time the outdoors in the Gatineau Hills exploring and fishing. One of the many interesting facts Bill shared from his extensive research was that Buchan created the prestigious Governor General’s Literary Awards.
