Folk picnic in Meech Creek Valley
Meech Creek Valley - October 1, 2017
On Sunday, October 1, 2017, the GVHS participated in the Folk picnic in Meech creek valley, organized by the Municipality of Chelsea and the GVHS, in partnership with the National Capital Commission (NCC) at the historic chemin Cross Loop near the covered bridge in Meech Creek Valley. This event including kite-flying demonstrations, traditional folk music, and guided tours. Board members of the GVHS staffed an information and publications table, joined by a number of Cross family members, whose ancestors settled this area.
