To the Editor of the Christian Guardian - Ottawa District - Church Opening

Dear Sir, In accordance with the announcement, the church dedication at the Rerche Village (sic) (this is likely the Pêche Village) took place on the Sabbath, 11th. Inst. There were two sermons preached by Rev. John Douse, Chairman of the District (morning and evening) also in the afternoon by the Rev. George Brown, from Belleville District. The church was crowded each service, and I trust that there were impressions made at each service, such as may not soon be forgotten. The collections for the day on behalf of the church were good.

Also on Monday at the hour 2 o`clock, p.m. tea was served, the house being crowded to excess, I should think that there was not less than 200 persons present. The sum realized from the tea meeting was $55, which is a large amount considering the place. After all had satisfied their appetites and the excitement over, we were addressed by the Rev. George Brown, John Douse, and our minister, the Rev. G. J. Dingman, other ministers were expected to have addressed the meeting, but were unavoidably detained from attending. The speaking was all that could be desired, both instructive and amusing, and I believe all parties enjoyed their afternoon`s pleasure, in fact taking it altogether it was a complete success.

I remain yours & c.
One who was t here.
