Lake Leamy
Entry to Leamy Lake today is had by way of a road which has a very inconspicuous and narrow entry between two houses on the Chelsea road just north of the northern limits of Hull.
If one did not know where the road was one could pass it twenty times and not observe it. But in the Andrew Leamy days the entrance was quite conspicuous there being no houses near.
The mile and a half road to the lake then was a good road. Mr. Leamy kept it well because he took his race horses that way.
Three quarters of a mile of the road between the gate and the house was of an undulating character. The road used to be a delightful one to drive over, as it was lined on both sides for most of its length by wild plum trees. In blossom time was a treat to the eye.
