Echoes from the Past

Some time after the death of Mrs. Wright the Chateau was sold.

The Holy Ghost Fathers, of Paris, France, in the person of Father Limbour (after whom the Village of Limbour is named) signed an option to buy the property for $69,317.50. The site was to be used for the establishment of an Apostolic School for the Missions.

The sale finally took place on 25 January 1905 and St. Aexandre College for young men and boys came into being.

The requirements though the years saw the old Chateau completely dwarfed by a newer structure which was built adjacent and attached to it.

The College prospered and dozens of graduates have represented their fellow Canadians in both Federal and Provincial governments. In 1990 the old school, following today's trend went "co-ed".
